In March 2021 we had a season of 12 Days of Gospel Stories. We’re now reproducing these stories here for all to see and be inspired by!
December 2020 saw Robyn being baptised in our church by our senior pastor and our youth pastor. Her family were there to witness and share in this special day. Her faith journey was not an easy one. She was raised in a household with Mormon and Christian influence. The family environment was messy, and she was very confused by the religious upbringing and other unhealthy influences during her growing up years. She admitted to making a conscious decision to walk on the dark side, in retaliation to her situation. Her sister in Australia was very concerned for Robyn and advised her to find and attend a local church. Robyn found our church on the internet during lockdown and started watching our online Sunday services throughout the lockdown months. After lockdown, Robyn decided to visit our church. She has been attending regularly since November 2020 with her granddaughter. Robyn’s sister who lives in Auckland has also been coming to church occasionally.
Amid the pandemic chaos and devastation, Gospel renewal is happening in a personal and direct way. Through online church services, people are receiving and welcoming God’s Word and worship into their homes and on their devices. What a powerful and strategic way of evangelism.
(*Robyn is not her real name)
Lord, as we speak into people’s lives and share the Gospel, may we be authentic in our language, our compassion and in our humility reflecting Christ through us.
Amen.
